Yesterday’s Yes
The healing business stopped calling. Nothing was broken.
I used to be in business as a healer.
Human Design taught me to pay attention to response. As a Generator, I learned to notice what had energy and what didn’t. For a long time I understood that mostly as a question of choice. Is there energy for this? Does this feel alive? Is there a yes here?
Then grief complicated the whole thing.
Some of the things I used to want simply stopped calling me, and the healing business was one of them. I wasn’t afraid of it. I hadn’t become lazy, or blocked, or misaligned, or disconnected from myself. It just belonged to a version of my life that didn’t exist anymore.
That distinction matters.
When desire goes quiet, self-development language gets very loud. Everybody, including the voice in your own head, starts looking for the problem. Maybe I’m conditioned. Maybe I’ve lost touch with my authority. Maybe I need to regulate my nervous system. Maybe I’m afraid. Maybe I’m supposed to push through.
I know that language well. I used to speak some of it for a living.
But sometimes a quiet response isn’t a malfunction. Sometimes the answer really did change.
Grief can rearrange what matters. So can aging, menopause, a betrayal, a dream that died, or simply living long enough to stop wanting what Younger You once wanted very, very badly.
Here’s the part that’s easy to miss. The Sacral responds to what’s in front of it, now. It doesn’t keep a ledger of what it used to want. It isn’t loyal to old yeses. We are.
So the chart can still be useful here. It can remind me to notice my energy instead of forcing an answer because some old identity expects one. But the chart doesn’t get to insist that yesterday’s yes is still today’s yes. Neither do I.
That’s the part I keep coming back to.
If something used to light you up and now it doesn’t, the first question doesn’t have to be “what’s wrong with me?”
It could be: what changed?
And then we listen. Not for the answer we used to give. For the one that’s actually here now.
